Dear Captain Predergast,
I want to thank you for your help in ensuring Friday's "Rally for Public Education" is a safe event. As president of the Vista Teachers Association and a staunch supporter of public schools I'm disheartened by Governor Schwarzenegger’s drastic budget cuts that have the potential to cripple our schools. As a way for our community to share its displeasure we have planned a peaceful demonstration for Friday, April 18th, 5:00-6:00 PM along three freeway overpasses in Vista.
So you have a better understanding of our role in this event occurring along the 78 corridor I've attached the two flyers that all teachers in the VistaUnifiedSchool District family recently received from me. As well, I have spoken with teacher representatives from each site explaining our intent, the rules of this demonstration and at all cost that safety for all is our number one priority.
