Dear Colleagues,
I have struggled writing this message because lately there seems little to be positive about. Each day I have been working on a variety of issues, but I have little that I can report out to you. I want each and every one of you to know that I am continuously working on your behalf. Everyone is aware of the recent victory as the district rescinded over 100 pink slips; I hope to be able to share more victories with you as the school year comes to an end. Know that my top priority is to continue to protect your jobs and keep cuts away from you classrooms. I will continue to meet with district administrators and board members to be your voice. In the meantime please use your voice to write letters to your assemblymen, congressmen, and governor. Be active in sharing with parents and community members how the budget cuts will impact our schools. Please see your Site Representative for a pamphlet with talking points and for more information log on to CTA.org. I thank the many of you who took precious time to participate in the Rally on the Overpass and ask that all of you continue to participate in other union sponsored events so we may continue to display a positive presence in the community.
Sincerely,
Jan O'Reilly
